Expert on Turkey:

Complaining to Barack Obama that OSCE Minsk Group demonstrates no positive dynamics in the Karabakh peace process, Recep Tayyip Erdogan once again tried to squeeze Turkey into the OSCE MG to assist Azerbaijan, Aristakes Simavoryan, expert at Noravank Foundation, told media, Tuesday.

The turcologist said that discussion on changing the format of the OSCE MG is out of question, especially that the Minsk Group three co-chairs have repeatedly came out against Turkey's involvement in
the resolution of the Karabakh conflict. It is Turkey that constantly hinders resolution of the conflict by setting Azerbaijan against Armenia, the expert said.

"Baku has repeatedly declared that because of Turkey's inaction the seven regions of Azerbaijan have proved under management of Armenians. I suppose Azerbaijan still blames Turkey for that, and
Turkey's attempts to interfere into the Karabakh process aim to compensate Azerbaijan for that 'guilt'," Simavoryan said.

He touched upon restoration and opening of the church on the Akhtamar Island and said that it was just imitation of tolerance, a myth about Turkey's positive attitude towards Armenia. In addition, he is sure that in a few years Turkey will start rooting out the Christian peoples in its territory.

The OSCE Minsk Group represented by co-chairs from Russia, U.S. and France has been mediating in the conflict's resolution since 1992. At present the peace process is based on the Madrid Principles suggested by the OSCE MG in 2007 in Madrid and renovated in 2009.

French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou ousted after just nine months in office

Legislators toppled France’s government in a confidence vote on Monday 8 September, a new crisis for Europe’s second-largest economy that obliges President Emmanuel Macron to search for a fourth prime minister in 12 months. Prime Minister Francois Bayrou was ousted overwhelmingly in a 364-194 vote against him. Bayrou paid the price for what appeared to be a staggering political miscalculation, gambling that lawmakers would back his view that France must slash public spending to rein in its debts. Instead, they seized on the vote that Bayrou called to gang up against the 74-year-old centrist who was appointed by Macron last December.
