Karabakh Armenians mark independence.

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, joined leaders of the self-declared Nagorno-Karabakh Republic at ceremonies marking the 23rd anniversary since the Armenians of Karabakh declared independence.

Sargsyan, on Tuesday visited the  Stepanakert memorial and paid tribute to the Armenians who died in the conflict that followed the declaration of independence. He also placed flowers on the tombs of Artur Mkrtchyan, who was the First Chairman of the NKR Supreme Council, and other Armenians who died in the Karabakh War.

Sargsyan was accompanied by local officials, including by NKR President Bako Sahakyan, as well as guests from abroad.
