It is a corridor, passing successively through Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, including the Black Sea waters of the latter two countries. On the same route it is planned to lay gas pipelines from Azerbaijan and Central Asia to Europe, also bypassing Russia, Caucasus Online reports.
Since 2012, Kazakhstan has been developing its grain export shipments on the same route (that is, through the ports of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey). A core sector of the transport and the corridor is generally trans-Caspian Sea section Aktau port (Kazakhstan) - Baku port (Azerbaijan).
