Azerbaijan army holds further military manoevres

Azerbaijan on Monday started another round of military manoevres. The latest exercises involved live missile and artillery fire simulating real combat scenarios. A statement by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence said that as part of the exercises "artillery units are carrying out the tasks on reaching concentration areas, decision-making, occupying firing and starting positions, keeping stealth capability, as well as moving during the battle and other tasks".

No details were given as to the number of troops and armour taking part in the exercise.

The exercises are the latest in a series held this year, and were described by Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence sources as part of the training programme for 2017.
