Minsk Group, Armenian FM meet in Paris

The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group met with Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian in Paris on Thursday, after meeting his Azerbaijani counterpart earlier in the week.

Igor Popov of Russia, James Warlick of the USA, Pierre Andrieu of France and Andrzej Kasprzyk, Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, were in attendance.

Excellent discussion with Armenia FM on implementation of Vienna summit incl proposal for an OSCE investigative mechanism,” said Warlick on Twitter.

After meeting in Vienna on May 16, the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan are set to meet again in June, probably in France.

The meeting in the Austrian capital was the first encounter between Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev since a four-day war in early-April, the worst bout of fighting for two decades. Dozens were killed.

Both presidents agreed in Vienna to increase the powers of the OSCE investigatory mechanism in Nagorno-Karabakh.
