Armenian President thanks Minsk Group. 'The work done over the last twenty years by the three co-chair could hardly be overestimated.'

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan sent a message to the heads of OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs countries on the 20th anniversary of the decision of the Conference for Security and Cooperation in Europe to start the Minsk process for peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. In the letter addressed to Dmitri Medvedev, Barack Obama and Nicolas Sarkozy, Serzh Sargsyan expressed his gratitude for the consistent efforts made by the co-chairing countries and their leaders towards settling the Nagorno Karabakh conflict over the past 20 years.

The Armenian President stressed that although the main goal of the Minsk process, the settlement of the conflict, is still unfulfilled, the importance of the work implemented by the Minsk Group Co-Chairs to bring the positions of the sides together, work out the Basic Principles, defuse the tension and maintain peace over the past 20 years can hardly be overestimated.

Serzh Sargsyan assured the three Presidents that Armenia is very much interested in settling the conflict and it will continue its positive and constructive engagement into the process of the peaceful settlement of the conflict within the Minsk Group.
