The Russian Foreign Ministry has commented on the current situation on the line of contact between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. The Press and Information section of the Foreign Ministry said that ceasefire violations have become more frequent and there are casualties amongst both military personnel and civilians. The statement expressed concern that these more frequent incidents will negatively impact the peace process, including the implimentation of those issues that were agreed by the two Presidents (of Armenia and Azerbaijan) during their meeting in Vienna on 19 November 2013.
The Russian Foreing Ministry added, "We call upon the conflicting sides to take up additional measures aimed at stabilising the situation, including the use of those mechanisms envisaged within Agreement on Strengthening the Ceasefire Regime concluded on February 4, 1995".
