Skirmishes between Armenia and Azerbaijan; both sides report casualties

Armenia and Azerbaijan have both reported skirmishes between their armed forces in the last twenty four hours.

Azerbaijan says that one of its border guards was killed when its forces repelled an Armenian incursion. The incident happened near the village of Gazakh. The dead soldier was named as Ibrahim Alamshah Valiyev. Azerbaijan also said that it had killed one Armenian soldier and injured an Armenian officer during the skirmish.

Armenia in the meantime has reported what appears to be a different incident, which took place on Sunday (23 February) during which it says one of its soldiers was slightly injured.

Commonspace.eu reports military incidents related to the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict based on secondary sources and is not able to confirm or otherwise the accuracy of the reports.
