Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has congratulated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan following the victory of the ruling Civil Contract party in Armenia's parliamentary elections held on Sunday.
In the message, Tokayev welcomed the conduct of the election process, noting that preliminary assessments by a majority of international observers indicated that the vote had been conducted in an open manner and in accordance with Armenian legislation. He said the necessary conditions had been in place to allow citizens to express their will freely and fairly.
The Kazakh president also wished Pashinyan success in pursuing Armenia's long-term national interests and reaffirmed Astana's readiness to deepen cooperation with Yerevan.
"Kazakhstan is ready to continue active cooperation with friendly Armenia in all areas of mutual interest," Tokayev said in his message.
The congratulatory note concluded with wishes for peace, stability, and prosperity for the Armenian people.
