Giorgi Kvirikashvili has resigned as prime minister of Georgia. In a press briefing at the State Chancellary in Tbilisi on Wednesday (13 June), Kvirikashvili cited differences on economic policy with the leaderhip of his party - the Georgian Dream, as the reason.
Reports from various sources in Georgia say that the prime minister was criticised for the economic performance of the government at a meeting of the leadership of the Georgian Dream party held yesterday under the chairmanship of Bidhzina Ivanishvili.
