Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgians Ilya II has called for peace in Georgia and throughout the world during prayers held at a special service to mark Easter Saturday and the feast of the Annunciation to the Virgin Mary, which this year co-incided.
In his sermon the Georgian Patriarch said that it is said that when the two feasts co-incide the happiness is so great that the birds do not even return to their nests. The Patriarch wished a happy Easter to all the faithful, and asked the congregation to join him in praying for peace in georgia and worldwide.
Easter Suuday is this year celebrated by Orthodox Churches throughout the world on 8 April.
