An Azerbaijani soldier was killed on the line of contact in the karabakh conflict zone as a result of cease fire violations on Saturday evening (11 February). The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence named the deceased as Lance Sergeant Fuad Gafarov, and said he died as a result of Armenian shelling, but gave no further details. The Armenian side has so far not confirmed the incident.
It was later reported that Gafarov was 29 years old and hailed from the region of Khachmaz. He was buried in his hometown this morning.
Both sides reported cease fire violations overnight from Saturday to Sunday.
