The Catholicos of Armenia Karekin II yesterday chaired a meeting of the Armenian Supreme Spiritual Council during which a number of current issues were discussed at St Echmiadzin.
According to a report by news.am the Supreme Spiritual Council heard a report from the head of Georgia’s Armenian Diocese, Bishop Mirzakhanyan on the state and condition of Armenian sanctuaries’ in Georgia. The council also discussed an "anti-Armenian report representing the Hojalu events from a wrong perspective."
The Armenian Church plays an important part in Armenian life and society and discussions in the Supreme Spiritual Council often reflect concerns within Armenia and within the wider Armenian diaspora community worldwide.
