Armenian President pays official visit to Georgia

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan arrived in Tbilisi on 25 December on an official visit to Georgia.

President of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili and his spouse Maca Chichua, hosted an official dinner in honour of the Armenian President and his wife, Rita Sargsyan after a formal welcoming ceremony at the Presidential palace, followed by a round of talks.

The visit continues today with meetings with the Patriarch of georgia, the Speaker of Parliament and the Georgian Primem Miniister.

Today (10 October), the Norwegian Nobel Committee awarded Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado for the Nobel Peace Prize. In the speech, the Norwegian Nobel Committee said that “she won for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy”. Machado was among 338 nominees for the Nobel Peace Prize and has become its 20th female laureate.
