A body of a military serviceman of the 102nd Russian military base has been found near Mother Armenia monument in Gyumri today.

Yerevan/Mediamax/. A body of a military serviceman of the 102nd Russian military base has been found near Mother Armenia monument in Gyumri today.

GALA TV reports that the body belongs to Ivan Novikov, the 102nd base serviceman, who has started his service 2 months ago.

Law enforcement agency representatives, forensic doctors and crime investigators are working at the place of the incident.

Chief of Police of Shirak marz Grigor Amirkhanyan has informed GALA TV that there are no bullet wounds on the body; the person was wounded with a cutting and piercing instrument.

Preliminary investigation has been started by the Armenian law enforcement bodies.

A criminal case has been initiated on the incident.
