An action of protest against extradition of Ramil Safarov held in front of Hungarian Embassy in Lebanon

An action of protest against the extradition of Ramil Safarov has been held in front of the Hungarian Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon.

The action was organized by the youth wings of three traditional Armenian parties: ARFD, Hnchakyan and Ramkavar-Azatakan.

The protesters met with the Hungarian Ambassador and handed him a letter urging the Hungarian Government to condemn the shameful and dangerous steps of the Azeri authorities.

The Armenia-Lebanon Friendship Association and the Union of Armenian Businessmen of Lebanon have appeared with a statement condemning the extradition and pardon of Safarov. They believe that the shameful deal between Hungary and Azerbaijan is contrary to all international rights and obligations and endangers the regional stability.

Ramil Safarov, an Azeri officer sentenced by a Hungarian court to life in jail for brutally killing an Armenian officer in Budapest in 2004, was extradited to Azerbaijan on Aug 31 and pardoned by the Azeri President once back home.
