Russian Foreign Minister to visit Armenia

Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov will pay an official visit to Armenia on April 2-3, a source at the Russian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo.

The Russian foreign minister will arrive in Armenia to attend the events timed to the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The National Statistical Service of Armenia reported $1.1 bln commodity turnover between Russia and Armenia for 2011, with 11.9% annual growth. Russia is still the leader in terms of commodity turnover with Armenia - 20.3%. Export from Armenia to Russia totaled $222.7 mln in 2011, with annual 38.8% growth and import totaled $891.8 mln with 6.8% annual growth. The unfavorable balance of trade totaled $669.1mln in 2011 with insignificant decline for the year.
