Obama to Armenia and Azerbaijan: "It's time to talk". New Co-Chair of Minsk Group arrives in the region with messages from the US President

The new American co-Chairman of the OSCE Minsk Group, James Warlick, has arrived in the region carrying letters from president Barak Obama to the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

In his message to Ilham Aliev and Serzh Sargsyan Obama says that Warlick's recent appointment is an important sign of the U.S strong and unequivocal committment to assisting the parties in achieving a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The US President added that he supported the use of opportunities of  direct dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia in the coming months, and the use of the co-chairmen's good offices and time to find a way out of the current stalemate. The President said that now it is time to make new efforts to restore peace in the region based on negotiations and compromise.
