NKR parliamentarians send a message of gratitude to the Legislative Council of the Australian New South Wales State

The Nagorno Karabakh Republic parliamentarians have sent a message of gratitude to the Legislative Council of the Australian New South Wales State that passed a resolution recognizing the NKR's right to self-determination, ArmInfo's correspondent to Stepanakert reports.

The parliamentarians express gratitude to their Australian counterparts and recall that the Karabakh people established sovereignty 20 years ago in its historical lands and now strive for international recognition on the basis of general democratic standards.

The message says that the international recognition of NKR will play a crucial part in resolution of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict and help establishing durable peace and stability in the region.

"We hope the federal authorities of Australia will respond to the initiative of the New South Wales Legislative Council and make relevant step building on the supremacy of the peoples' right to self- determination," the message reads.

The Karabakh parliamentarians hope that NKR and Australia will establish interstate ties shortly for establishment of justice in international relations and exercise of the peoples' right to  self-determination.
