EU Special Envoy discusses Karabakh, bilateral relations, with Azerbaijan president

The European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus, Toivo Klaar, on Monday (30June) met with Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev in Baku. Issues related to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict as welll as bilateral relations, especially as regards trade, transport and tourism where discussed.

Welcoming the EU Envoy, President Aliyev referred to the meeting he held recently in Brussels with European Council President Donald Tusk, describing the discussions as "effective". President Aliyev said Azerbaijan attached great importance to its relations with the EU and co-operation was developing successfully.

Israel struck one of the main hospitals in the Gaza strip on Monday 25 August and then hit the facility again as journalists and rescue workers rushed to the scene, killing at least 20 people and wounding many more, local health workers said. The assault came as Israel plans to widen its offensive to heavily populated areas, vowing to destroy Hamas after its 7th October attack in 2023.
