1st General Assembly of the "Armenia-Azerbaijan Civil Peace Platform" held in Tbilisi

The 1st General Assembly of the "Armenia - Azerbaijan Civil Peace Platform" was held in Tbilisi, according to a report by the APA news agency. The agency said that it was established on the basis of the "Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Platform", and its Charter was approved at the meeting. The Steering Committee and the Control-Inspection Commission were selected.

It was further reported that the platform will expand its activity to include civil society institutions of Armenia and Azerbaijan, experts from the OSCE Minsk Group member states, non-governmental organizations, public and religious figures, academics, and ordinary citizens of Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The General Assembly decided to establish headquarters of the Platform in Yerevan, Baku and Tbilisi.

It was further reported that after the General Assembly, the first meeting of the new Board took place. At the meeting, in accordance with the Charter of the "Armenia - Azerbaijan Civil Peace Platform", an institute of co-chairs was established and Rafael Isakhanyan from Armenia and Rovshan Rzayev from Azerbaijan were elected as co-chairmen of the Board for a period of one year.
