Armenian soldier killed overnight in Karabakh

An Armenian soldier was killed on Wednesday evening during fighting over the Line of Contact in Nagorno-Karabakh, local media is reporting. The soldier, named as Vahe A Veghoyan, was born in 1997, and killed at 18.20 in the northern direction of the Line of Contact.

After four days of fierce fighting at the beginning of April, a Russian-brokered ceasefire has ensured things have been calmer since then, though there have been sporadic shooting incidents, and several deaths.

Despite the death of the young soldier, the Armenian armed forces said in general the situation was relatively calm on Wednesday evening, with some violations. The Azerbaijanis also accused the Armenian side of breaching the ceasefire overnight.
