The Executive Board of the Conference on the Future of Europe launched a multilingual digital citizens' platform on Monday (19 April). The platform invites EU citizens to share their views and discuss the future of Europe.
In keeping with the inter-institutional nature of the Conference, the interactive platform was launched in a joint press conference with the three co-chairs of the Conference’s Executive Board: Commission Vice-President, Dubravka Šuica; MEP Guy Verhofstadt; and Portuguese Secretary of State, Ana Paula Zacarias.
The platform is available in all 24 official EU languages, giving citizens from across the EU a digital space to share their experiences and thoughts through online panel discussions and events. It is an essential part of the Conference on the Future of Europe. The Conference is intended to provide an insight into the directions in which the EU should develop in the future.
The initiative is organised around several key topics such as Climate change and the environment, Health, Digital transformation, Migration, and Values and rights, rule of law, security. The platform is available until spring 2022.
The official launch of the Conference will take place on Europe Day (9 May 2021).
