De facto NKR President appoints new ministers

The de facto President of the self-declared Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, Bako Sahakyan, has appointed a new government for the territory

Masis Mayelyan becomes the new foreign minister of the self-declared Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, whilst Arayik Haroutyunyan was appointed Minister of State, Levon Mnatsakanyan was appointed Minister of Defense,

The Presidential decrees defined the ministers whose activity will be coordinated by the Minister of State, as well as the scope of authorities entrusted to the Minister of State by the President in the domain of state property and financial management.

The appointments followed constitutional changes in the territory, and the re-election of Bako Sahakyan as President for a third term.

Nagorno-Karabakh Republic remains an unrecognised entity.

Israel’s isolation is increasing as twenty eight countries including the United Kingdom and a majority of Member States of the European Union issued a joint statement on Monday 21 July saying the war in Gaza “must end now” and condemning Israel over 'inhumane killing' of Gaza civilians seeking aid. The foreign ministers of countries, also including Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, France, Italy and Japan, said “the suffering of civilians in Gaza has reached new depths.” The statement described as “horrifying” the recent deaths of over 800 Palestinians who were seeking aid, according to the figures released by Gaza’s Health Ministry and the U.N. human rights office.
