Ukrainian secret service claims to have killed Russian assassins of Colonel Ivan Voronych

The Ukrainian intelligence service, the SBU, claims to have killed Russian FSB agents who were allegedly responsible for the murder of Colonel Ivan Voronych. This information was published by the SBU on the Telegram messaging app. Voronytsj, a Ukrainian intelligence officer, was shot dead in broad daylight in Kyiv last week.

CCTV footage captured the moment he was shot in a car park by a man. According to the SBU, the murder was planned by the shooter, a woman, and their supervisor. The shooter and the woman mapped out Colonel Voronych's daily routine and travel routes before killing him. It is unclear whether the man, the woman and the supervisor were killed; the SBU only refers to 'several agents'.

The SBU tracked down the Russian agents' hideout and, when they arrived to arrest them, a firefight broke out. The Russians were shot dead, the SBU announced on social media. Russia has not yet responded to this report.
