Palestinian children killed by an Israel missile in Gaza on Sunday

At least ten Palestinians, most of them children were killed, and more than a dozen were wounded near a Water Point in Central Gaza on Sunday (13 July), in an Israeli missile strike. Those killed and wounded were waiting to fill water containers at al Nuseirat Refugee Camp

The Israeli military said it had intended to hit an Islamic Jihad militant in the area but that a malfunction had caused the missile to fall dozens of meters from the target.

Footage shared on line after the strike showed bloodied children and lifeless bodies, amidst screams of panic and desperation.

Residents rushed to the scene and transported the wounded using private vehicles and donkey carts.
