Azerbaijan and Iran discuss cooperation on energy projects

On the sidelines of the 3rd Belt and Road Energy Ministers' Conference in China, the energy ministers of Azerbaijan - Parviz Shahbazov - and Iran - Abbas Aliabadi - discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in the energy sector. Shahbazov and Aliabadi stressed the need to complete the construction of hydroelectric power plants. The ministers from Baku and Tehran also discussed the coordination of electricity grids and the expansion of electricity transit between Russia, Azerbaijan and Iran. 

The Azerbaijani energy minister also met with a number of Chinese companies and discussed the implementation of various sustainable energy projects based on wind and solar power. Shahbazov also presented the agenda of COP 29 and discussed China's crucial role in the event.

The United States has expressed support for the Georgian people saying that it has been a partner to Georgia and the Georgian people for more than 32 years.  In a statement on Wednesday, Secretary of State Anthony J.Blinken said that the partnership has been rooted in a shared love of freedom and democracy and a desire to see Georgia in the Euro-Atlantic family.
