Aliyev and Pashinyan talk about Karabakh during dinner for CIS leaders in Ashgabat

Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev and Armenian prime minister Nikol Pashintan discussed the Karabakh conflict during a dinner held in the Turkmen capital Ashgabat on Friday for leaders of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The dinner hosted by the president of Turkmenistan concluded the proceedings of the summit of the CIS in the Turkemn capital.

No further details of the Aliyev-Pashinyan conversation have been released, and so far there has not been any reference to it from Azerbaijani official sources. The spokesperson of the Armenian prime minister has confirmed that the conversation has taken place..

The CIS summit was chaired by Turkmen president Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and took place at the Oguzkent hotel in Ashgabad. The leaders of Turkmenistan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan participated in the meeting.
