News.az: Istanbul host ceremony of 'Caspian Award'

On 6 December, following the Caspian Forum, "Caspian Award" was presented to representatives of various fields, who have made a significant contribution to the development of cultural, social and political spheres of Turkic countries.

The representatives were awarded in the following categories:

Artist of the Year - Anjelika Akbar

Athlete of the Year - Nazmiyye Muslu

Scientist of the Year - Svante Cornell

Statesman of the Year - Recep Tayyip Erdogan

Project of the Year - TANAP. The award was presented to SOCAR head Rovnag Abdullayev and Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz.

The Caspian Forum which wrapped up yesterday was attended by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz, former U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, the head of the political analysis and information provision department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Elnur Aslanov, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov, head of the Azerbaijani State Oil Company (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev, head of Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Samad Seyidov, Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Alasania, leading experts and political scientists.

The event was organized by the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkey, the Turkish International Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and US universities of Berkeley and Brookline.
