Acting Foreign Minister of Nagorno Karabakh Republic receives U.S. expert

On November 14, Acting Foreign Minister of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Vasily Atajanian received senior staff scientist on European and Eurasian issues of American Foreign Policy Council strategic center Wayne Merry.

During the meeting, Vasily Atajanian introduced official Stepanaker's the position on and approaches to the negotiation process for the Karabakh conflict peaceful settlement. The meeting participants discussed the ways of preventing resumption of the military actions and stressed the necessity of creating an atmosphere of confidence between the conflicting parties.

Vasily Atajanian and Wayne Merry also discussed other issues of mutual interest.

Donald Trump still wants Greenland. "We have to have it", the US president insists. He has sparked a fresh row with Denmark after appointing a special envoy to Greenland.   In response to a question from the BBC about the new role of Jeff Landry, the Republican governor of Louisiana, Trump said the US needed Greenland for "national protection" and that "we have to have it". Trump specifically mentioned Chinese and Russian ships as potential threats in the nearby seas. Greenland, home to about 57,000 people, has had extensive self-government since 1979, though defence and foreign policy remain in Danish hands.
