Traffic restrictions in Baku ahead of F1 race

Traffic is being restricted in central Baku ahead of the upcoming Formula One competition, which is taking place at the end of the week.

From midnight on Monday, some central streets will be closed to traffic ahead of the first ever Grand Prix in the Azerbaijani capital.

Authorities are recommending locals to use public transport as much as possible during the week of the competition, which is taking place Friday 17 to Sunday 19 June.

Heavy security measures are under way ahead of the event. Baku also hosted the inaugural European Games last June.
