"We have not managed to return enough stolen money and properly prepare for war," Pashinyan wrote on his facebook page on Monday (28 December), referring to the government's campaign to make those who had enriched themselves through corruption under previous governments to return the stolen funds.

The semi official Anadolu news agency quoted the president as saying in a video address from Istanbul that "as promised, I hope 2021 will be a year of democratic and economic reforms". 

She cited the coronavirus pandemic and the country’s economic crisis as her priorities while promising to appoint a team of experts to tackle the issues. Sandu has presented closer integration with the EU as a way out of the economic crisis.

The European Union appreciates the facilitation efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and encourages all actors to ensure a swift and complete implementation of all provisions of the Riyadh Agreement.
