The two sides also exchanged views on the negotiation process on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the European Union's confidence-building projects, the Ministry said.
Regional and international issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
In Baku EUSR Klaar and his delegation also met with the Azerbaijani Minister of Defence, Colonel General Zakir Hassanov.

It welcomes the reduction of tension on the line of contact and the constructive approach of the Azerbaijani and Armenian leadership to the settlement of the conflict. "The EU hopes that this will be accompanied by concrete and meaningful talks as soon as possible, in order to settle the conflict peacefully on the basis of mutual compromises.
