"Our aim is to make the South Caucasus a region of peace"

EU Commissioner for enlargement and neighbourhood policy, Johannes Hahn, had meetings with senior officials from the South Caucasus countries on the margins of the Munich Security Conference, which took place from 15-17 February.

Hahn met with Armenian foreign minister Zohrab Mnatskanyan, after which he tweeted that the European Commission supports Armenia's reforms and the European Union is committed to building a region of peace and prosperity in the South Caucasus.

Later, Hahn also met with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov. "We discussed the next steps on our bilateral agreement, which we hope to conclude very soon, and the regional situation. Our goal is to make the South Caucasus a region of stability and prosperity", Hahn tweeted after.
