Georgian Prime Minister in Jerusalem

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili who is currently on a visit to Israel, met in Jerusalem on Monday (24 July) with Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu. Both leaders hailed the good relations between Georgia and Israel.

"We are proud of this special friendship between our nations. I would like to underline that bilateral relations between Israel and Georgia are rapidly developing, and high-ranking visits will further strengthen this charge. The Georgian side continues to follow the path of further strengthening of partnership with the state of Israel", Kvirikashvili said.

On his part Prime Minister Netanyahu said that the two countries are connected by 2600 years of Georgian-Jewish history, and hundreds of thousands of Georgian Jews now live in Israel. "Both countries have a future oriented to security and progress. Our countries have human sympathy to each other; this is caused by the contribution of Georgians living in Israel, as well as with deep respect for each other's culture", the Israeli Prime Minister added.

Netantahu also accepted an invitation by the georgian Prime Minister to visit Georgia in the near future.
