Foodies bring Egyptian cuisine to the Alps

Two 30-year-old Egyptians living in Germany decided to pursue their hobby of cooking in the mountains. They have started a cooking channel, called  “ElRaye2 Kitchen” where they demonstrate Egyptian cuisine from the Alps.

Sherif and Diaa are both students who travelled in  2012 to continue their research and have also visited several travel destinations.

In an interview with Egyptian Streets, Sherif and Diaa say that cooking inspires their mind, helping them to relax and recharge with positive energy. the Word Elraye2 translates to relaxed in Arabic.

“Mountains offer an astonishing sense of peace, perspective, and satisfaction. They help us unwind from the exhaustion of the fast-paced life,” they share.

Their project runs on both YouTube and Facebook where they post regular photos of their travel and cooking. They have cooked several dishes such as Fava beans, Lamb and Baba Ghanoush in scenic locations.

The goal behind the project is to encourage going out into nature and to raise awareness about Egyptian cuisine.

Sherif and Diaa also aim to encourage food tourism and boost awareness of Egypt and the region.

You can stay connected with ElRaye2 Kitchen’s and their adventures on Youtube and Instagram.
