Azerbaijan's railway infrastructure receives major upgrade in preparation for COP29

Azerbaijan's railwy system is completing preparations to welcome international guests to COP29 by providing a seamless, environmentally friendly and efficient transit experience. These preparations include training more than 300 employees in customer service, English language and climate knowledge to ensure smooth transit for visitors arriving for the conference.

In addition, stations and infrastructure have been made more accessible for passengers with disabilities, including tactile flooring, larger lifts and ramps. Medical stations have also been added at key transport hubs to assist passengers in the event of an emergency.

Environmental initiatives have also been improved as part of the infrastructure upgrade. Litter will be regularly removed, rubble will be sorted according to sustainable regulations for proper disposal and new trees will be planted around the tracks to support the ecological theme of the conference.
