The population of Azerbaijan increased by 88,104 people (0.9%), and now amounts to 9,898,085 million people as of January 1, 2018, according to the Azerbaijani State Statistic Committee cited by the news agency APA.
52.9% of the population lived in urban areas, whilst 47.1% lived in rural areas. It was further announced that 49.9% of the population are men and 50.1% are women.
