Azerbaijan President Aliev arrives in Brussels for important meetings with European Union

President Ilham Aliev of Azerbaijan has arrived in Brussels where tomorrow (Monday 6 February) he will participate in important discussions with officials of the European Union. President Aliev is in Brussels at the invitation of the president of the European Council, Donald Tusk.

President Aliev was met at Brussels airport by a representative of the European Council President, as well as by the Head of the European Union Delegation to Azerbaijan, Ambassador Melania Mard, the Head of the Azerbaijani Mission to the European Union, Ambassador Fuad Iskanderov, and the Head of the Azerbaijani Mission to NATO, Ambassador Khazar Ibrahim.

Earlier, commonspace.eu political editor said that the visit is expected to open a new chapter in EU - Azerbaijan relations and the results of the visit will likely define relations between the EU and Azerbaijan for the next decade.
