Armenian soldier killed on border with Azerbaijan

An Armenian soldier was killed on the international border between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The soldier was named as 19 year old Chaplin Margharyan.

The Armenian Defence Ministry told Armenian media outlets that Margharyan was killed on Tuesday (10 October) by Azerbaijani gunfire, however no details were given. The Armenian media reports suggest that the incident happened on the international border between Armenia and Azerbaijan and not in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. There has so far been no comment on the incident from the Azerbaijani side.
