Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers meet in Paris

A meeting between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan is taking place in paris on Wednesday (16 January) as efforts continue to restart negotiations on resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. 

The meeting between Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Elmar Mammadyarov is mediated by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmen.

Earlier the two foreign ministers held speratye meetings with the three co-chairmen.

The announcement, reported by international agencies, comes as many countries, including Australia, the United Kingdom, France and Canada, said they would recognise a Palestinian state in September. “This reality finally buries the idea of a Palestinian state, because there is nothing to recognise and no one to recognise,” said Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich during a ceremony on Thursday.
