Armenia holds partial local elections

Armenia held partial local elections on Sunday (2 October). Voting took place in 377 communities in the districts of Lori, Shirak, Gegharkunik, Kotayk, Syunik and Vayots Dzor.

Elections were also held in Gyumri and Vanadzor Armenia second and third largest cities.

Municipal elections in Armenia are staggered over a period of weeks. In this latest round of voting no incidents were reported. Voter apathy however remained a factor. Results are expected to be announced later today.
