The Armenian government continues to push for judicial reform, with parliament approving constitutional amendments. Meanwhile an Armenian court over the weekend decided not to authorise the arrest of Gagik Tsarukyan.
Kocharian is accused of overthrowing the constitutional order by his actions in 2008 when police cracked down on peaceful demonstrators. Ten people died in the incidents that ensued.
"We are witnessing a changed reality in that forced displacement nowadays is not only vastly more widespread but is simply no longer a short-term and temporary phenomenon," said UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi.
The Council of the European Union stated that it recognises that terrorism continues to evolve and that the EU and its Member States have to adapt accordingly
In a secret vote the Armenian parliament has agreed to lift the immunity of opposition leader Gagik Tsarukyan. 87 MPs voted in favour. The two opposition parties abstained.
