The Turkish Central Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee will have an unscheduled meeting tomorrow, in an effort to discuss the recent developments on “public debt in certain European countries and the global growth outlook,” according to a statement.

The meeting will take place between 10 a.m. and 12 a.m. and the outcome will be announced with a statement at 12 a.m., according to a Wednesday announcement at the Bank’s website.

The meeting will come as concerns over European sovereign debt and U.S. public finances coincide with worries over Turkey’s gaping current account deficit. The U.S. dollar was trading above 1.70 Turkish liras yesterday morning, as foreign investors dump Turkish assets.
