Erdogan in Baku. The Turkish Prime Minister has held talks with the Azerbaijani President during a one-day visit of significant importance aimed at consolidating the close relations between the two countries.

The Prime Minister of Turkey Recip Tayip Erdogan is on a working visit to Azerbaijan during which he has had a one-to-one meeting with the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliev. The visit is considered to be of significant importance and re-affirms the close relations that exists between Azerbaijan  and Turkey in political, military, economic and cultural spheres.

Erdogan is accompanied by a high powered delegation including the Ministers of Energy, Defence and Economy. Prior to his visit to Azerbaijan, Erdogan said in an interview with journalists that Turkey-Azerbaijan ties are exceptional in character.

The Turkish Premier said the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and large projects implemented by the two countries in the region will be discussed during his trip to Baku.

In this first phase, which lasted from September 2024 to April 2025, LINKS Europe conducted an assessment of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations and mobilised the personnel necessary for delivering the project output. LINKS Europe Foundation is pleased to announce the names of the chairs/co-chairs of the five thematic groups within the initiative.
