Diplomats of the three co-Chair countries of the OSCE Minsk Process have visited Stepanakert for meetings with the leadership of the self declared Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. OSCE sources had earlier said that the visit will be possible, weather permitting.
On 22 November Ambassadors Robert Bradtke (USA), Igor Popov (Russia), and Jacques Faure (France), accompanied by their delegation, were received by the NKR President, Bako Sahakian. According to the press office of the NKR leadership "issues related to the Azerbaijani-Karabagh conflict settlement and the latest regional developments were discussed during the meeting." According to the same source Sahakyan once again underlined that official Stepanakert favours peaceful settlement of the conflict and the restoration of the negotiation process's full format under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group." Bako Sahakyan reiterated that the conflict settlement would be possible only when the reality is taken into consideration, when efforts are concentrated on the causes rather than consequences, noting that any attempt to return to the past is doomed to failure.
The representatives of the Minsk Group are expected to visit Baku and Yerevan over the next few days.
