Kazakhstan wants co-operation between EU and EEU.

Kazakhstan is for establishment of cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and the European Union (EU), the country's Foreign Minister Erlan Idrissov said on Monday.

"This is how our president sees it, and Kazakhstan will follow this line consistently," the foreign minister told the parliament, adding the idea of making "bridges" between the EU and the EEU was launched during the process of settling the conflict in Ukraine's south-east.

"This is a new, absolutely important geopolitical initiative. We are happy such significant political leaders like Germany's Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Angela Merkel have been supporting the initiative," he said.
