Istanbul hosts "peace summit" to mark battle of Cannakale

A "Peace Summit" to mark the centenary of the Battle of Canakkale opened in Istanbul on Thursday.

The meeting was attended by a number of leading academics, as well as the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland. The meeting was also addressed by the Turkish President, Recip Tayip Erdogan, and Prime Minister, Ahmit Davitoglu.
