"Eurovision is an opportunity not to be missed."

"The Eurovision Song contest is an extraordinary opportunity to open Azerbaijan to the world and to open the world to Azerbaijan." This was stated by European Union Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy, Stefan Fule, in a short video message released yesterday in Baku by the European Union Delegation to Azerbaijan.

In his message Fule said that "this major European cultural event offers an opportunity to Azerbaijan to demonstrate that it is truly a European country where people can freely express themselves not only in music but also in their opinions and views." Fule said that this was an unprecented opportunity not to be missed and goes beyond the contest itself. He added that the international community will be watching Azerbaijan and he believes that Eurovision in Baku will be an inspiration and a motivation for Azerbaijan and for all Europeans.
