Azerbaijan is celebrating independence day - the anniversary of the establishment of the first Azerbaijani Republic in 1918. Official ceremonies were held in Baku and in other parts of Azerbaijan.
The anniversary was marked in an unusual way in the city of Ganca. A flash mob of around six thousand people formed the logo of the forthcoming European Games in Baku.becoming the largest flash mob ever recorded. Representatives of the Guiness Book of Records were at hand to observe the event and organisers hope that their achievement will now be listed in the next edition of the Book.
